GIRLS TEAMS

GU8 (current U7 and Younger) GRIZZLIES...Born up to July 31, 2006...If your daughter shows an interest in the game and is not getting taught properly at the intramural level then the GRIZZLIES may be a good opportunity for her. Many times at this age, the more physically developed players are simply asked to "score" goals and are never given the proper foundation of how to play. When they get older, those who have been taught techniques and have an understanding of the game pass them by. Many times the young superstar does not continue playing beyond the age of 12 because their coach simply relied on their athletic ability without teaching them how to play. Our practice sessions (2x per week, 1 hour each) are designed to get the players touches on the ball while beginning to teach them a better understanding of the game. We keep it fun and interesting for them and keep them moving so we do not lose their attention. In addition to their practices, they play in the JSS league with one game per weekend. Younger players may register as well.

GU9 (current U8) FALCONS…BORN between Aug 1, 2004-July 31, 2005…The FALCONS are a team designed for those girls who are ready to transition from "intramural" to "pre-travel". We will play teams from other towns with half of our games at our home field and half "away" at our opponents field. We will begin to introduce the children and the parents to a new level in their soccer development as we work on individual skill sets while introducing team defending and possession concepts to the players. We will not focus on "winning" but rather on the development of each individual player. Down the road, winning will come from understanding how to play the game not from having the biggest kick. Since the focus will not be on "winning", the girls are given more responsibility and are encouraged to make mistakes without worrying about the results of the games. This team will practice 2x per week and will play one game per week as well. While practices are not mandatory it is difficult for the girls to succeed when they do not understand what is expected of them during the game. A winter team will be formed from those who wish to continue with the program. EVERYONE who wishes to play will be rostered!

GU10 (current U9) ECLIPSE…BORN between Aug 1, 2003-July 31, 2004…The ECLIPSE are a developmental travel team looking to add additonal girls to the roster. We practice 2x per week and play one game per weekend. This is a great team for the girl who just wants to play but who is not technically developed or has started to play only recently and new players are welcome to join. We take the time to work with and teach the girls proper techniques while helping them better understand the game. We do not focus on winning but rather on player development. It is certain that the players on this team will improve from the start of the season to it’s conclusion.

GU11 (current U10) DIAMONDS…BORN between Aug 1, 2002 and July 31, 2003…The DIAMONDS are a high level team looking for a few players who are committed to playing. This team practices 2x per week and will play either NYCSL or LIJSL in the fall 2013 season. In addition we are looking to play in several tournaments throughout the year and practice and play leagues and tournaments during the winter. The girls play a possession style of soccer and our concentration is on passing, moving with and without the ball, foot skills and team defense. We do not focus on "winning" at this stage of their development but would have a much better record with a "full time" goalie.

GU11 (current U10) XTREME…BORN between Aug 1, 2002-July 31, 2003…The HBC Xtreme will be holding tryouts, Wednesday June 19 at 6:30 HBC Field 1 and Thursday June 20 from 7:00-8:30 Farmingdale HS. The team is a fantastic group of girls currently in Div 1 in NYCSL and SM in LIJSL. The team is professionally trained twice a week and have a foot skills trainer for an additional training day Friday as well. We play in numerous tournaments throughout the year. In the winter we play in indoor leagues as well as training. We play in summer leagues and summer tournaments Fusion SC(Hershey tournament), HBC Labor day and East Meadow (Coventa). We will be playing in two leagues in the fall season an RPL and NYCSL league. The Xtreme has finished in 1st in LIJS as GU9 Nassau Fall and Spring Season, GU10 Fall Season. In JSS we went to the Semi finals in the NY Cup and Quarter Finals in LIJS LI Cup. We are looking to add players who are dedicated and have the desire top play with one of long islands top teams. GU12 (current U11) PANTHERS…BORN between August 1, 2001 and July 31, 2002…The PANTHERS are an outstanding collection of girls who play a great possession style of soccer. The girls are taught foot skills, moving with and without the ball, positioning, passing and team defense. The Panthers are 2013 NY CUP Finalists, 2013 LI CUP Finalists and are currently playing both LIJSL and NYCSL. We play in out of town tournaments and practice and play in several leagues and tournaments during the winter. We are looking to add a couple of players to our roster as we move from 9v9 to the large field. We will be practicing and playing during the summer as we prepare for this transition.

GU13 (current U12) FORCE…BORN between August 1, 2000 and July 31, 2001…The FORCE are a very competitive team and are 2013 NY CUP Semi-Finalists currently playing both LIJSL and NPL. We play in out of town tournaments and practice and play in several leagues and tournaments during the winter. We play a very nice possession style of soccer and are looking for dedicated players who are looking to improve their individual skills and their understanding of the game. While we do not focus on winning, this is the age where the ability to play the game properly begins to lead to success on the field. With a great foundation of players who have been a part of our program for several years, we are looking to integrate some new girls.

GU14 (current U13) APACHES…BORN between August 1, 1999 and July 31, 2000…The APACHES are a very competitive team and are 2013 NY CUP Quarter-Finalists currently playing both LIJSL (D2) and NYCSL. We play in out of town tournaments and practice and play in several leagues and tournaments during the winter. This team plays outstanding soccer and is ready to go to another level in their understanding of the game as we begin to develop a more attacking style of possession play. Since we play a particular style we are looking to add a couple of hard working, dedicated athletes to the team now as we begin to prepare for our college showcase years. This team is built around a large core who have played together since U9 and under the direct supervision of our licensed head coach who has over 20 years of youth soccer coaching experience is coached and trained by a former D1 college player.

GU15 (current U14) GALAXY…Born between August 1, 1998 and July 31, 1999…The GALAXY are an extremely competitive and dedicated team. They are 2013 LI CUP Semi-Finalists and 2013 NY CUP Quarter-Finalists and currently play in LIJSL. We play in out of town tournaments and practice and play in several leagues and tournaments during the winter. This team plays outstanding soccer and is ready to go to another level in their understanding of the game as we begin to develop a more attacking style of possession play. The majority of the roster has played together for many years but we are looking to add a few players to the roster as we begin our college showcase years. We will play in a few college showcases this summer and fall and will have a schedule mapped out for the girls as they prepare to play high school ball. Under the supervision or our licensed head coach who has over 20 years of youth soccer coaching experience this team is coached and trained by a former D1 college player.

GU18 (current U17) SILENT THUNDER...Born between August 1, 1995 and July 31, 1996...The HBC Silent Thunder will have tryouts on Thursday 6/13 and Monday 6/17 at HBC Soccer Park Field #3. HBC is coached by Gary Sullivan, former MLS player. The Silent Thunder are State Cup semi-finalists and finished in 4th place in Region 1 this past season. HBC attended the following tournaments/showcases this past year:

BU8 (current U7) Milan/Liverpool/Everton...BORN UP TO JULY 31, 2006...HBC Milan, HBC Liverpool and HBC Everton will be holding try outs on Tuesday June 11th & Thursday 13th 5pm to 6.30pm at Stimson School on Oakwood Road in Huntington and on Tues. June 18th and Thurs. 20th at 5pm-6.30pm at the HBC Soccer Park, 212 Old South Path, Melville NY 11747.All three teams are professionally trained and coached twice a week and play in the JSS league.
We will also be playing in a summer league and entering tournaments throughout the year.
We focus on individual skills & teamwork and make sure all the players enjoy their soccer experience.

BU9 (current U8) HBC THUNDER.....BORN between August 1, 2004 and July 31, 2005...the Thunder are looking for committed players who would like to join a great team and play at a high level for the Fall 2013 season. We will be playing JSS, NY Cup and possibly LIJSL too. We had a successful Fall 2012 season and are currently playing this Spring 2013 season in the highest Suffolk County boys U8 JSS division (Purple). We have a great group of boys who train and practice two times per week and play year round, including tournaments.

BU10 (current U9) EXPLOSION...BORN between August 1, 2003 and July 31, 2004...The EXPLOSION are a very good travel team looking to add additional boys to the roster as we look to become an outstanding team in the coming years. We practice 2x per week and play one game per weekend. We play in tournaments and practice and play in several leagues and tournaments during the winter. This team plays outstanding soccer for their age and is built around a core of players who have been a part of our developmental program for the last year. Please note that we will not be focused on winning but rather on teaching the boys the proper techniques, skills and understanding of the game that will be necessary for them to develop into a high level team by the time they are U13.

In addition, if the registrations and interest warrants we will be forming a second team in this age group for those players who have not yet developed their soccer or athletic skills yet. It is important to remember that players this age are still "babies" and learn, grow and develop at different rates physically and it is our responsibility to place these children in a situation where they can succeed. The EXPRESS will be a team for those boys. Players who have only recently started as well as new players are welcome to join. We take the time to work with and teach them proper techniques while helping them better understand the game. It is certain that the players on this team will improve from the start of the season to its conclusion.

BU12 (current U11) CLASH (Dirty Faces)…BORN between Aug 1, 2001 and July 31, 2002…The CLASH are an intermediate level team that just started playing together for the Spring 2013 season. They boys have improved tremendously in that very short period of time. While many of the boys played club ball in the past, they were not given a solid foundation and are now being taught how to properly play the game. We practice 2x per week and play one game per weekend. This is a great team for the boy who wants to play but who is not technically developed or has started to play only recently. Currently the team has a good core of players that are beginning to have a great understanding of the fame. They have excellent defensive shape and understand how to play an offside trap very well. We are looking for dedicated, athletic players to join the team and help us make the next step. The Blackhawks currently play LIJSL and have been playing up a year in NYCSL so that they could face bigger, stronger competition to aid their development.

BU13 (current U12) BARCELONA...BORN between August 1, 2000-July 31, 2001...HBC Barcelona (Northport-East Northport based) is looking for experienced players looking for more playing time and new to the game athletic players to complement our talent pool. We currently play in division 8E in LIJSL and participate in 2, 3 tournaments a year. We are a new team, 1 year existence. We have a very capable coaching team whose priority is to teach and develop players in a fun environment. Professional training will be provided once a week; we practice twice a week in Centerport. BU13 (current U12) STING...BORN between August 1, 2000-July 31, 2001...The HBC Sting is a Division3 team looking to add players for the fall 2013 season when we move to BU13. We are looking for experienced players that are committed to the game and want to be a part of a tight knit team. We are professionally trained by a Division 1 first team All-American soccer player, former captain and leading scorer of the Rough Riders, and a member of the Olympic development team. There is NO FEE for the training the boys receive. We will be holding a tryout on Tuesday, June 18th from 6:30 to 8:00 on Field 1 (the first field on your right as you enter the facility) at HBC Park (Half Hollow Rd & Old South Path, Huntington Station, NY 11746).

BU16 (current U15) LIBERTY…BORN between August 1, 1997 and July 31, 1998…The LIBERTY are looking to add several players to the squad to begin training in the summer to prepare for High School tryouts. We will get the boys ready for the physical fitness that they will be required to pass in order to make their respective teams. Since many of them will be practicing and playing for their school teams during the week we will plan to play LIJSL (1 game per week on Sundays) with light training on Saturdays (so they maintain their familiarity with each other).

BU16 (current U15) SAINTS…BORN between August 1, 1997 and July 31, 1998…We are looking to add players to our team that will complement our solid core as we look to continue to improve and rise in division. The core of the team has been together since U11 and we have gone from D6 to D3. We plan to begin training in the summer and participate in a tournament to prepare for High School tryouts. As we anticipate most of the boys will be playing for their respective High School teams in the fall, we will hold limited and strategic practices when possible to keep team continuity. We generally do a winter indoor session. We will have a more regular practice session in the spring. We are looking for players that will have a strong commitment to the team. We will consider players at all positions.

Standard Registration: NEW player pass (signed by player with glued photo attached), parent signature sheet, add/delete sheet, HBC registration form with registration fee.

Process: Properly complete the required paperwork and drop it off in the HBC Soccer box at 93 Beechwood Street, Farmingdale, NY 11735 by the Sunday of each week...NO LATER than 8:00pm. If I do not have the paperwork by that time, you will NOT get the pass for the following weekend. Do NOT ask us to "do you a favor" ..there can be NO exceptions to this procedure as we must adhere to the LIJSL requirements and procedure for registration.

Transfer Player: In addition to the items listed above, you will need to obtain a three part transfer form from the HBC Travel Registrar. Obtain the parent signature and complete the HBC portion of the form ONLY. The Travel Registrar will obtain the approval and "old" player pass from their former club. Return this form with the other items and a check in the amount of $100.00 made payable to the Long Island Junior Soccer League. There is a mandatory, league imposed 10 business day waiting period before the league will release the new pass.

Under NO circumstances are coaches or any representative from any of the teams registered with our club, to call or contact the LIJSL league office without authorization and approval from our club President Bill Rudy, our Travel Director Jim Neuburger or our Travel Registrar Larry Glaser. Due to the size of our club the league asked us several years ago, to institute this policy. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
